Market Data Protocols

Friday, March 29, is not one of the 11 bank holidays in 2024, and so banks will be open on Good Friday. It is recognized as a holiday by the Federal Reserve System and all banks will be closed. Online banking and ATMs are still available but branches will be closed. They opened after you left for work and closed before you clocked out.

Kiplinger has a wide array of tax preparation information, including details about tax extensions, tax credits and capital gains tax rates. The stock and bond trading will halt again in early 2025 on Monday, Jan. 20, for Martin Luther King Jr. Keith also went on to say that his understanding is that the Secretary of State compiles the data for the report solely from the Form 10-K and Corporate Disclosure us stock market holiday hours 2021 Statements. Through no fault of their own, but because of how the statute is worded, they do not look at proxies or other disclosures made by a company.

Is the Stock Market Open on Good Friday?

Should we assume that companies that did not file are not in compliance? So, I would guess that the number of women on boards is probably much greater than the report indicates. The statutes governing board composition provide that the Secretary of State may impose a $100,000 fine for failure to file to timely file board member information with the Secretary of State pursuant to a regulation. However, the Secretary of State has not adopted a regulation and is not required to do so (the statutes say that the Secretary of State “may” adopt implementing regulations).

Also note that Monday, October 11, 2021 (Columbus Day) and Thursday, November 11, 2021 (Veterans Day) are federal holidays and there is no insider trading reporting. Monday, October 10, 2022 (Columbus Day) and Friday, November 11, 2022 (Veterans Day) are federal holidays and there is no insider trading reporting. Monday, October 9, 2023 (Columbus Day) and Friday, November 10, 2023 (Veterans Day) are federal holidays and there is no insider trading reporting. Several exchanges do not observe Columbus Day nor Indigenous Peoples’ Day as a holiday, including the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Many government offices are closed on Columbus Day, which is a federal holiday observed on the second Monday of every October. The New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq are the two primary stock exchanges in the United States.

It seems silly considering a human being probably never gets involved, so computers can still do the work on a “closed day,” but that’s how they’ve chosen to operate. Both markets will close on New Year’s Day, and resume normal hours on Thursday, Jan. 2. On Tuesday, Dec. 24, after a regular session on Monday.

In New York City, the annual Columbus Day parade is a tradition, and it took place this year.

They add Good Friday, the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. It’s important to know these days even if you won’t be going to a bank. If you plan on making a deposit, transfer, bill pay, or other online bank activity – banks won’t process them on a day they are closed.

Trading Hours For Other Major Stock Exchanges

Americans will commemorate its fallen military personnel, and mark the unofficial start of summer, this Memorial Day, Monday, May 30. And the stock market will indeed be closed for Memorial Day, ensuring that investors can focus on the events of the day rather than watching the stock market continue its roller-coaster ways. Nick Jones, CEO and co-founder of crypto start-up, Zumo, believes the Bitcoin crash during thanksgiving last year is evidence why the stock market goes on holiday, describing traders as “emotionally-driven creatures.”
